James Bills Retains Top Ranking Spot As Australia Slip Down To Sixth In The World

James “BizBills” Bills is still ranked number one in Australia for online poker tournaments but his beloved Australia has slipped down to sixth in the world and now trail Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, Costa Rica and Brazil.
A large number of Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica's ranking players are American poker players who have moved countries in order to keep playing on sites such as PokerStars and PartyPoker but still, the slide down the ranking must be still disappointing. Can the boys and girls of Australia turn it around by the end of the month.
Bills had a week or close-but-no-cigar moments and could have had an amazing set of results had the cards gone his way. He busted 23rd in the Sunday 500 for $2,224.90 when there was $92,000 up top and had a fourth place finish in the $109 Turbo, also on PokerStars, for $5,488.
Tom “tollgate” Grigg is still in second place and he had similar nearly wins. Last week he finished eighth in the $109 rebuy ($40,000 guaranteed) for $2,645 and then busted in fifth place in the same tournament a week later. That second result netted him a $7,607.25 score.
The biggest and best result went the way of Jonathan “xMONSTERxDONGx” Karamalikis for his ninth place finish in the WCOOP #22. He was the first player to bust out of the final table but that result added $51,975 to the popular pro's bankroll.
PokerNetwork has its fingers crossed Australia can halt the slide down the rankings and climbing to at least the top 5 spots on the PocketFives.com rankings by the end of next week. With the players Australia has this is most certainly possible. Good luck at the felt!
