Prior to revealing the schedule for 2012, the World Series of Poker teased the poker world with various tweets. On Tuesday, the WSOP revealed it would be using 470 tables this summer, nearly 100 more than the year before; that the 2012 WSOP would take place from May 27 to July 16; the off day during the Main Event would be gone; and perhaps the biggest announcement of all:

Authorities Recover Half of Duhamel's Stolen Money

According to the Toronto Sun, police have recovered $80,000, about half of the cash that was stolen from 2010 World Series of Poker champion Jonathan Duhamel in a home invasion on December 21.

2012 World Series of Poker Schedule Revealed

The World Series of Poker has announced the 2012 WSOP schedule, along with numerous changes and additions. This year, 61 gold bracelets will be up for grabs from May 27 through July 16, 2012, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel in Las Vegas.

"This year’s WSOP schedule is very exciting,” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel, who will oversee the event for the seventh consecutive year.

Full Tilt Poker and United States DOJ Reach Settle on Forfeiture Agreement

According to a report by Gaming Intelligence last week, the owners of Full Tilt Poker agreed on the final terms of their forfeiture agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice on Jan. 24. The agreement could allow French investment firm Groupe Bernard Tapie to fork over the agreed $80 million to purchase the company from the DOJ.
