Just as the WPT London Poker Classic kicks off, Australia’s own Tony G had a few interesting comments on his Party Poker Blog about a challenge with none other than the fastest man in the world – Usain Bolt.
Apparently Bolt was spotted at the reception of the Mayfair Hotel which is the venue of the WPT London Poker Classic Event. The G tried to catch up with the sporting star as he commented,“Somebody called me but you guessed it – Usain had bolted!”

It was roughly 18 months ago that Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan and Patrik Antonius started the inaugural and seemingly never ending “Durrrr Challenge”.
Cut to just days ago and we would witness the beginning of the sequel to be played concurrently with the original challenge. This time it would be with Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates. The young high stakes pro has impressed in recent times as a player who will take on all comers. This is proven once again by his insistence in taking on the Durrrr Challenge.

Traditionally the Asian Poker Tour has been renowned for their legendary parties and glamourous promotional models, but in between the fun, drinks and entertainment, there is also a poker tournament with hundreds of thousands of dollars given away this week at the APT Manila, culminating in the US$2,700 Main Event.
227 players headed to the Resorts World Casino in Manila, Philippines for the APT Philippines Main Event and after four days of play it was local Michael Cua who captured the trophy and the US$176,700 in prize money.

SKYCITY Auckland will once again play host to the second annual SKYCITY Blue September Challenge of the Codes poker tournament. The popular event is being hosted by Lee “Final Table” Nelson and held as part of the Blue September campaign aiming to raise awareness of prostate cancer and funds for the New Zealand Prostate Cancer Foundation.

And while here in Australia we can still log on to Party Poker every day, it just hasn't been the same since that fateful September day in 2006 when they closed their online doors to the massive American poker market.
