Situation: 30 players on 3 tables. Player "X" allin with QQ and a big stack calls (Player"Z") with Q8 (Dia). The dealer is young and has been dealing the game fast. Player "X" rates himself as a local/national Pro and very experienced. The flop comes A.10.J....turn 9 and river a J. The dealer mucks the Q8,leaves the QQ up and
pushes the pot and quickly mucks the board + QQ. I stop the game and say "Z" had a straight. Three other players agree and "Z" said he did too. This all happened very quickly...maybe less than 10 seconds. The whole tournament was then stopped for 40 minutes, players interviewed plus the video was searched.
The video showed the board+ the QQ, but the Q8 was nearly out of shot but they could see the 8 with a paint. The dealer(now on break) was asked and he remembered the Q8 and when the flop came he thought "the only way that dog Q8 could win was a split with a turn or river K". Player "X" kept his ground saying "he plays thousands of hands in a week, and couldn't remember what the hand was that called his allin!" (ROTFLMAO)..."Where is the evidence he had Q8....these 5 players would say anything to eliminate me". I was embarassed as a poker player to watch this display, from someone who proclaimed to be a pro-player!In the end the casino pushed his chips to "Z", asked him to leave the tournament and gave him his buyin back. For years I've heard the comments at B&M live games that the best poker police are the 'players'.Player "X" will be watched by me from now on. It a tough game to beat at the best of times, but this short of childish *hit shouldn't be in the game.Angle shooting, cheating, dishonest, what is your opinion and your thoughts?
