Switching the topic back to the actual game, if they replaced Robert Croak with Ivey/Antonius then it would have been a pretty sick episode.

Good start to the season IMO

I agree with this, although you may underestimate Norm's knowledge of the game. Here's a PokerNews interview with him from last week: PokerNews Interview: High Stakes Poker Host Norm Macdonald | PokerNews

Didn't notice the chip shuffling.

I hope I do underestimate it, my first impression from one episode doesn't have to be correct. Although:

"How have you prepared to host the show?
I DVR’d a bunch of HSP and Poker After Dark episodes and watched them with a few poker buddies. I’ve also been reading a lot about poker and looking up YouTube videos of some of the players."

Does he have an advisor like Fricke behind the scenes? I thought that setup sounded silly at first but it works very well on Big Game.

W/e Gabe is probably the only guy who can walk naturally on both sides of the felt at those stakes with those players and still be funny.

Yeah, I'm not into Norm at all. Thats probably because replacing Gabe would be like replacing Jeff Probst on survivor or something like that.
