The Asian Poker Tour (APT) has just announced the first of its major poker events for 2010, with the APT Philippines 2010 set to take place at the Resort Worlds complex in Manila from August 23 to 29.
Though the August dates are normally reserved for APT Macau, the shift in dates, combined with a buy-in of USD $2,700 ($2,500 + 200) and a reputation of throwing the most extravagant player parties in recent years, should see this year’s APT Philippines event attract a huge field from around the world that may surpass the previous year’s total of 262 players. Neil Arce took down the APT Philippines title in 2009, along with USD $185,000 in prize money.
“We are very excited to be holding one of our biggest events at a world-class venue such as Resorts World Manila,” said Jeff Mann, the CEO of the Asian Poker Tour. “This is only one of our events for 2010, so be sure to stay tuned for the rest of this year’s schedule.”
