Australian Online Poker Rankings: Matt Wakeman Climbs to the top of the Pile

The Australian online poker rankings have a new number one and that new leader is none other than Matt “mjw006” Wakeman.
Wakeman has done what many thought was impossible and that is knock Jonathan “xMONSTERxDONG” Karamalikis from his lofty perch. But Wakeman has managed to do just that, and has now opened a lead of almost 300 points over his nearest rival.
Wakeman, a former HUSNG specialist, has been putting in some superb results of late including a win in the PokerStars $215 NL Hold’em Turbo and a second place in the $55 NL Hold’em, also on PokerStars.
Expect Wakeman’s lead to be further extended when the rankings are next updated because this week he has won a coveted Triple Crown of titles. First. Wakeman won the Tyrannosaurus Rex tournament on Full Tilt Poker for a cool $45,750 and then took down The Titan Poker Super Tuesday for an additional $10,055. The next day, Wakeman picked up $8,041 for taking down the $109 NL Hold’em Turbo on PokerStars to complete a remarkable run of results.
Karamalikis has not had a recorded cash since the end of May, but as soon as he able to grind online poker again we would fully expect him to put in some significant volume in an attempt to overtake Wakeman and reclaim that number one berth.
Rounding out the top 10 places in the leader board are Nurlan “Nur1ck” Boobekov, Michael “WaGe N WaRz” Federsen, Dean “Deanuzz” Schneider, Martin “Tiny_molestar” Kozlov, Andrew “FUZZBUNGLE” Hinrichsen, Tom “tollgate” Grigg, Michael “m_hawk_1” Hawkins and Stevan “random.chu” Chew.
