Ron Parsons Wins Joe Hachem Deepstack 9

Posted at 09:15 2012-05-08 by Matthew Pitt

The $550 buy-in Joe Hachem Deep Stack 9 event came to a thrilling conclusion over the weekend in the superb Crown Casino, Melbourne and when the dust finally settled in the poker room that is the largest in the world outside of Las Vegas it was Ron Parsons who had won every single chip in play and become the champion.

Parsons has three major live cashes previous to this win; all of which coming at the Crown Casino. Now he has even more reason to love the Crown and its staff, $49,450 reasons to be exact.

The total attendance for this event was 475, of which 169 made it through to the final day's play. One-by-one they fell by the wayside including the former Aussie Millions Main Event champion David Gorr (15th place) and when another familiar face in Michael Egan (10th) busted out the final table was set.

That nine-handed final table was the home to a number of talented players including the man who started the day as the chip leader, Andrew Mellado, and the eventual runner-up Jackie Glazier; the latter widely regarded as one of the every best Australian female players.

But the history books only remember the champion and that champion is Ron Parsons who we are sure will be in the Main Event that starts on Thursday.
