We finally got through the rest of Season Six of Sopranos last night. The end was a little disappointing in its ambiguity, but the final few episodes (when the war breaks out between the New Jersey family and Phil Leotardo's crew) was just awesome. Again there were so many dark themes towards the end (AJ's suicide attempt) which made it really heavy going but the series itself has definitely been worth it. I really thought the acting was phenomenal right across the board, if you are interested in the acting craft generally it is really worth watching the Inside The Actor's Studio interview of lead actor James Gandolfini, it's in two parts on YouTube:

There is a really good section in the interview where he talks about studying the Meisner Technique, which is an approach to acting, and he talks about how he discovered a lot of his inner anger and was able to unleash it to an audience...I think that's what makes for a very believable performance on his part through the series.
Poker has been okay the last couple of days. I have been doing a lot of poker study away from the tables again, this time doing a little bit of work on expanding my checkraise and flop raising ranges to include a lot more bluffs on certain boards, and kind of linked to that, alternatives to simply threebetting while keeping up the aggression in the late game. I have had a few deep runs but the best one was a win in one of the Big Doubles today. I really mixed it up more than I ever have before and ended up with 130bb by the final table (really decent for an FTP tourney) which was more than double second, and then closed it out from there.
This has also been my biggest volume month ever for MTTs so far, I've played 992 this month and still have three playing days to go! Thanks to the fuper score it should also come close to my best profit month as well, kind of nice to get some results from hard work :)
