2009 - Had a really good start to the year going 3/5 at the Aussie Millions with a FT and ~80k winnings.

The rest of the year has been pretty ugly, with only one 'significant' online cash 4th in the big 100r for ~30k and a live FT at Macau in the Highrollers for a decent score.

I'm very shitty that I completely bricked both the WSOP (0 from 6) and the ANZPT series (0 from 5).

I've found myself in some pretty sick equity spots this year where had the result of one hand been reversed there is a fair chance I would be sitting here a ton richer (specifically AM ME, WSOP ME and Macau HR), but I guess shit happens and I cant complain as I've certainly had those spots go in my favour in the past.

I've also found myself playing suboptimally through lack of care factor at times, especially online and in the occasional live tournaments. I need to get this out of my game. Specifically by being more selective online and by not playing as many of the meh side events that I have in 08 and 09. It has certainly cost me a bunch this year.

2010 -

My goals are:

- Play more cash. Want to play at least 300k hands at 2/4-5/10, and will be ecstatic to break even

- Become good at online MTT's (would like to really up my volume in 2010 as I hardly played this year online. Like Joel, will be more selective in my schedule)

- First WSOP cash

- Have a serious crack at ANZPT points race.

- Make thkcduckworth's top 8 players of 2010 list

- release book Ive been working on

- look into setting up an instructional vid site that showcases the ridiculous Aussie online talent.

- play more golf with Joel if Im invited :P

the year started off well enough. i had only been a casual player the last 2 years and decide to try and get some results during the christmas holidays as it was hard to put any type of volume because of work (i work away on the mines in WA).
picked up some ok scores including first in a 55r for about 7k. all up made about 15k. went to aussie mill to play in prelim event and busted early. came back home and proceeded to lose entire bankroll (about 12k) playing 10/20and 25/50 stars in about 2 hrs. after this meltdown i swore i was done with online poker and self excluded myself for 6 months from all the sites. wasnt long before i regretted this and by the time the 6 months were up i was foaming at the mouth to play some poker. during the 6 months i feverishly studied all things poker and i think this time away was the best thing possible for my game.
i almost immediately got results when i came back starting with 1st in 30 k guarantee on ftp for 7.2k and a package to appt auckland. i decided to take a months holidays to play hard, and after 2 days i picked up 3rd in the warm up for 72k. that kicked off a great run which has included scores of 4.8k, 7k, 9.4k, 13.5k, 8k, 14.5k and a package to sydney. also cashed auckland for 7k and deep run in sydney. phew ...
now i have the tough decision of whether to quit work and play full time or try and make both work. what makes it hard is that i have worked up to a management pos on 240k a year so its not cut and dry. ive got till the end of year to decide so we ll see what happens

goals for 2010 -

crack into plb top 10 (currently 20th)
quit my job
play a 10k live event
stay the fuck away from cash games

good luck to everyone
Dude, WTF are you thinking?????

Thats $240k guaranteed and your thinking about throwing it in????

After discovering poker in january of this yr i deposited my first 50 into fulltilt in march.....After playing a couple of micro tournys and donking out straight away i knew i was destined to become the next phil ivey....9 months on and having dropped around 3k the phil ivey dream is somewhat in the distance (isildur is the goal now)....the highest ive built my bankroll on full tilt to was around 940 bucks which took 34 mins to blow after what i describe as the unluckiest 34 mins a man could experience (nothing to do with the fact i was playing somedude who wouldnt piss on me if i was on fire)....although my roi is embarassing to say the least i still dnt believe im as bad as the stats suggest and have gained valuable experience in some of the tournys ive played in.

2009 highlights
- sitting to the left of vitaly lunkin in the 240 +16 7game mixed ftops tourny
(one highlight yes what a great yr)

2010 goals
- talking to as many pros as possible and gaining as much info as possible
- having kennl or monsterdong respond to me on observer chat
- cashing in a live event (aussie millions event 1 wouldnt be a bad start)
- becoming a profitable player and sticking to bankroll management
- fulfilling my deal with a fellow fulltilt player to a 1000 hu plo duel (i dnt think im going to be ready jan 2nd pokerproplaya08)

dream
- building a roll ready for 2011 wsop

its good to see all u aussies being incredibly successful and sticking it up the americans may the new year bring more success...look forward to railing yas in 2010

im just a kid with a dream
