I will leave 2009 results until the end of 2009, as I am planning on winning heaps between now and then so hopefully it skews my results into the realms of respectability...
As for goals in 2010: * Attend oktoberfest in Munich * Similar WSOP schedule to 2009, but try not to brick it out again... * Play over 5,000 online MTTs. The results of these can take care of themselves. * Tourney select better; cut out stuff where I'm floating around b/e - 10% expected ROI, and crush a smaller game instead * Learn a second language (German is leading at present, see goal #1) * Travel slightly less to Asia-Pacific events, and not waste days playing side events when I could be playing online. * Play at least one round of golf and one practice session per week. Best of luck to all with their 2010 goals.

hi all. this is my first ever post so i thought id share the hell of a year ive had.
2009. the year started off well enough. i had only been a casual player the last 2 years and decide to try and get some results during the christmas holidays as it was hard to put any type of volume because of work (i work away on the mines in WA). picked up some ok scores including first in a 55r for about 7k. all up made about 15k. went to aussie mill to play in prelim event and busted early. came back home and proceeded to lose entire bankroll (about 12k) playing 10/20and 25/50 stars in about 2 hrs. after this meltdown i swore i was done with online poker and self excluded myself for 6 months from all the sites. wasnt long before i regretted this and by the time the 6 months were up i was foaming at the mouth to play some poker. during the 6 months i feverishly studied all things poker and i think this time away was the best thing possible for my game. i almost immediately got results when i came back starting with 1st in 30 k guarantee on ftp for 7.2k and a package to appt auckland. i decided to take a months holidays to play hard, and after 2 days i picked up 3rd in the warm up for 72k. that kicked off a great run which has included scores of 4.8k, 7k, 9.4k, 13.5k, 8k, 14.5k and a package to sydney. also cashed auckland for 7k and deep run in sydney. phew ... now i have the tough decision of whether to quit work and play full time or try and make both work. what makes it hard is that i have worked up to a management pos on 240k a year so its not cut and dry. ive got till the end of year to decide so we ll see what happens goals for 2010 - crack into plb top 10 (currently 20th) quit my job play a 10k live event stay the fuck away from cash games good luck to everyone |

That is only 100 a week. I think risk2dupside could play 50,000 with sufficient motivation.

Micro Machine Man
2007-08 I never thought playing drunk in my undies could be so expensive! 2009 Stopped drinking while playing and changed to boxers. Ive only ever played the micro's online and towards the end of 2008 I was well and truly over donating, so I told myself If I busted the less than a hundred left in my roll I would have to play freerolls only. I didnt like that thought so I started railing tourneys and watching some of my favorite players to see what they were doing that I wasnt. I started reading the forums and reading books and most importantly stopped drinking. My regular games are $2.20-$5.50 MTT's with shots at the $11's and very rarely a bit higher. In feb '09 I won my first big field MTT the $3.30 with 1791 runners. Exactly 1 month later I chopped the $5.50 heads up and that had 2349 runners. And then I felt like I was getting the hang of these micro MTT's. Ive played about 1200 tourneys this year and made about 30 final tables. Maby not great results, but Im pretty happy with the way my game is going. In Sept I won my 2nd $3.30 with 2371 runners. 2009 ROI on stars is 124%. I kinda feel that if I was a single man living in a caravan, i would have stepped up a level already but my wife and daughters come first and when I get the money in my accounts up, I take money out for the mortgage, other bills and pink frilly dresses etc. 2010 goals are to be playing more $11's if the roll allows. I'd also like to win a $3000+ score. Keep on studying the game and to play the Joe Hachem series at crown.

2009 - For me has been pretty awsome, had about 80k month in june at tournies, that was awsome (since my volume is pathetic) then had a few real good months at cash, ive also had a few mega downswings at cash, but they come with the game i guess. spent the most part of the year playing HUNL and ive progressed slowly but steadily i guess, got some coaching and worked harder then normal and its all paying off.
2010 - getting to vegas this time haha would be nice, keep working on my HUNL game since thats prob most enjoyable thing ive found in poker and fix my fucking golf swing! i guess id like to do better at live stuff and find a way to try and enjoy it more. volume is the main thing to me really, just play a tonne and win a tonne. good thread too btw |
