Matthew Wakeman Climbs to Number Four in the World Rankings!

Matthew Wakeman is currently Australia’s number one ranked online poker tournament player and his continued success has seen him climb into the top five in the worldwide rankings, too.

Since our last update, Wakeman has taken down the $30,000 guaranteed at PartyPoker, finished third in the $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo at PokerStars, and won a $33 rebuy at PokerStars. Throw into the mix an additional 21 cashes and it is easy to see why Wakeman’s rise up the rankings has been so meteoric.

The rest of the top 10 is almost identical to last week’s with the exception of the addition of Brett “brett_threat” Chalhoub who finds himself in ninth spot in the Australian rankings. Chalhoub has put in some great results in recent weeks, the highlights being a win in the PokerStars $51 NL Hold’em Hyper-Turbo, a 10th place in The Bigger $109, and a win in the $55 NL Hold’em 6-Max Turbo.
