PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams Opens Friday with the Macau Poker Cup

Ever since PokerStars revealed it has a new home for live poker in Macau, the City of Dreams poker room, the poker community has waited with baited breath for the venue to open its door and host its first major festival. That wait is almost over.

On Friday 19 April, the PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams poker room will open its doors and the ten-day Macau Poker Cup will commence. Featuring nine Official Asia Player of the Year events, including the HKD$5,500 NL Hold’em (HKD$500,000 guarantee),and the HKD$20,000 NL Hold’em (HKD$1,000,000 guaranteed), this latest instalment of the Macau Poker Cup is the 18th on record and should be the biggest yet.

That is quite some claim from PokerStars Macau, especially when one considers 635 players bought into the HKD$11,000 Red Dragon Event in February 2012, creating a prize pool of HKD$6,297,676. But we would never doubt PokerStars’ ability to attract players in their droves and the HKD$5,000,000 guarantee on this year’s Red Dragon Event will certainly be attractive to scores of players from all corners of the globe.
