Mayar Captures Lead

Written by thkcduckworth, 2010 09 11 08:43 pm EST

Catching the action on the board of {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, Honglin Jiang led out from early position with a bet of 95,000.

Michael Mayar made the call as the {10-Hearts}landed on the river and Jiang continued for 155,000.

Mayar went deep into the tank for over two minutes before making the call.

Jiang instantly mucked as he slipped to 1,050,000 as Mayar slammed down his {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}while collecting the pot - and the chip lead - to move to 1,120,000 in chips.

Donlon Dusted

Written by thkcduckworth, 2010 09 11 08:35 pm EST

On a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, Stephen Donlon found himself all in against Michael Mayar.

Donlon: {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Mayar: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The turn of the {Q-Spades}changed little, and when the third queen - the {Q-Clubs}- fell on the river, Donlon exited in 23rd place as Mayar climbs to 760,000 in chips.

Gould Gonski

Written by thkcduckworth, 2010 09 11 08:23 pm EST

Rhys Gould's roller coaster of a day has finally come an end at the hands of Sasha Skalrud.

Gould stuck the rest of his chips in holding {Q-?}{8-?}and Skalrud made the call holding {A-?}{10-?}.

Unfortunately for Gould, he was unable to connect with the board, and exited in 24th place for a $4,628 payday.

Campbell Culled by Jiang

Written by thkcduckworth, 2010 09 11 08:17 pm EST

In a raised pot with the flop reading {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, both Honglin Jiang and David Campbell checked to Eddy Honsi who fired out a bet of 50,000.

Jiang deliberated slightly before check-raising to 180,000 before Campbell moved all in for 207,000. Hosni passed and Jiang made the call.

Campbell: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Jiang: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The turn and river landed the {6-Diamonds}and {J-Hearts}to see Campbell exit and Jiang soar to 1,660,000 in chips.

The Downs of Gould

Written by thkcduckworth, 2010 09 11 08:13 pm EST

Enh Phengsavanh opened with a raise to 20,000 and Rhys Gould made teh call from the big blind to see a {2-?}{2-?}{7-?}flop.

Gould checked and Phengsavanh fired out 35,000 only to have Gould check-raise shove all in. Phengsavanh made the call for his tournament life tabling his {9-?}{9-?}to be ahead of Gould's {A-?}{Q-?}.

The board blanked out and Phengsavanh doubled through Gould.

Just a few hands later, Gould called Sheldon's late position shove of approximately 80,000.

Gould: {A-?}{J-?}
Sheldon: {K-?}{9-?}

The board saw not one, but two kings land on it to double Sheldon up and leave Gould relatively crippled.

One Milli, One Milli, One Milli!

Written by thkcduckworth, 2010 09 11 08:09 pm EST

Honglin Jiang has been the chief destroyer of two opponents to soar over the one million chip mark.

In a preflop clash, Jiang had two opponents all in; Raymond Gebrael and Rod Meneses.

Jiang: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Gebrael: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Meneses: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Amazingly the board ran out {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}to give Jiang quads and send Gebrael and Meneses out the door in 26th and 27th place respectively.

With that pot, Jiang soars to 1,170,000 in chips.

Boxell: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Forrester: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}to see Boxell eliminated in 28th place.
