Lawless i appreciate your understanding of the events and regard you as a very respectable player. There was no malice intended when asking for the ruling and it is the same ruling that i have played under for all the previous N.P.L. tournaments including monthly and quarterly finals. I wish the correct decision was made either way and am finding it difficult to accept the result. I have been playing poker for 22 years and have always tried to play with the best intentions. I asked for a ruling under the circumstances not to gain an advantage but to clarify the chain of events. I now have to live with being vilified by onlookers and people that weren't there and have no grasp of the situation. I can only apologise for creating a storm when i only wanted a ruling and whether people choose to believe or accept it i wasn't trying to gain an advantage and would have gladly passed the chips over if the decision was made differently. I trust that whatever happens that the game of poker that we play week in and week out will continue to go forward smoothly as soon as possible.

My understanding is that there are a few NPL regions who do not play the published rules. I believe that Canberra and Northern Beaches fall into this category. Given the TD comes from Canberra and the villian player comes from the beaches and this is how they play it in those regions, i can understand how the ruling was made. Bit the ruling was wrong. Very wrong.

If I was Richard at NPL I would be urgently calling all Licensees into Head Office and laying down the law, making sure they all play the published rules. I have always played it that the hand is live as published in the rules.

all round top guy and poker player you are, our local venues will show respect because we always have played by this rule. And know that like the number one rule in npl states- what the tournament director decides is final. Unlike these other jokers out there that obviously r the type of people when a hand is mucked they can't understand why or accept it. npl northern beaches is a great place to play- fuck the haters they don't know shit.

OK I apologise. All over the net they have been referred to as the 'hero' and the 'villian'. That was wrong of me to put it that way in the post. The point is NPL regions are not playing by the NPL published rules and when you get a player asking for a ruling because his region does not play that way and the TD happens to come from a region who does not play that way there is going to be a major fuckup.
