LOL mate you tried to get the pot on a technicality even though you were beat and you did.

Then turns out it was a wrong ruling.

Admitting you did a dog act in the heat of the moment would earn you more points you know.

Although whinging is an intrinsic part of poker, and of this forum.

A few years ago I was poker organizer for Optus employees to play in an inter-company multisport event
called the Corporate Games. The organizers had to pay the money ($55) for each team member to
play and then chase up the members themselves to get the money back. Some of the organizers
for the other sports (rowing, volleyball etc) complained about the effort and trouble of doing this.
I said "No problem for me: chasing up people who owe you money is an important part of the sport of poker".

The ruling at my local npl venues is the same at every npl monthly, state and at the first fulltilt 500 played last year- if your hand is exposed out of turn at any point in the hand it is an instant muck-your hand is dead, whether or not you have a full house, quads, a royal flush I don't care, it's dead and the pot is awarded to the remaining player full stop. People who play in these tournaments should read the rules or set any queries they have straight before participating so that they do not make this unfortunate mistake. he played the right play and there is no need to call him derogatory names and labels. Put yourself in his position and be realistic- you would have done the egzact same thing he did.

Yes it's a retarded ruling, but they have protected themselves and yes you have to question that if this ruling was in the "interest of fairness" but I'm sure they can argue it was.
I dont see how they can argue it was in the interest of "fairness" to rule the hand dead. What possible angle can Jacky be on here? I doubt he is trying to save himself the 2.5k in a ~200k pot on the chance Lee has quads when he has top boat. What damage is done to Lee by Jacky turning over his hand?

It is specifically not a dead hand according to the rules. In the interest of fairness, I can see letting the opponent keep his 2.5k, but even that is a stretch imo. The action of Lee sliding all his chips forward when calling (assuming that is what actually happened) clearly indicated he intended to go allin and simply tried to angle after he saw he was drawing dead.

In fact I'd pay to be in a court room while they try to convince a judge of this!
If Jacky wins the pot he woulda had approx 6 - 7% of the chips in play! What's his equity in his stack then? Some $33K of the $500K prize pool, even $15K considering the biggest prize one person can win is $250K...

Yeah I guess we should all just accept that NPL are a law unto themselves, they do what they want, when they want and to who they want. They believe there is no need to admit fault, offer compensation, explain the situation to their membership (infact they blatantly lie to their membership on the issue saying it's sorted) or detail how they plan to ensure this doesn't happen in the future. Coz they seem to think it's okay because they gave away $500K worth of cash and prizes! That justifies it!

Lethal I understand that decisions made in 'the fog of war' do not always reflect the angels of our better nature. As I said while not knowing you long I found you to be a good bloke. I also believe that the distress you showed at the next break was not feigned. Nor was the offer you made to Jacky.
However you are right you will have to live with your decision. And I don't imagine it will be easy. Yet it may be worth noting that that if Jacky hasn't castigated and impugned you then perhaps it isn't the place of others to do so in his stead.

Like I said bro, try to take it to a judge, you'd either be laughed out of the courtroom or be held in contempt for wasting his time.

I haven't called him yet. I don't know Richard. As per my blog piece (MITH Poker) I spoke to my local NPL representative / licensee in SA.
