Stick to loyalty and lose, or put in the best players in the state and have a chance at winning. Where and when do you draw the line with the old bulls? People are in the Hall Of Fame for what they have done for the game, and I have the up most respect for all of them. But as a fiercely competitive QLDer would I prefer my state to win rather than watch all the big named players play each other.

    I'd say jonno/crown should.

I also want to mention that more support should be given to the territories to get a team up. There are a number of prominent players with connections to NT who would've played, had someone contacted them.

Also someone should stick a rocket up the kiwis for having to pluck two players from the rail on the morning of the event last year. I know honeybone wants to defect to tassie but I told him just because he has a green/yellow brazil soccer jersey, it doesn't qualify him for our team. Kiwis you have a whole country to pick from, you should be able to round up a team!

Maybe this is a good place to throw those names into the ring Heath?

That goes for poential players for all states and countries. If you know of a player that you feel should be considered then throw their names into the mix.

Two of the guys I spoke to were Bruno Portaro and Andrew Demetriou. Both experienced players who have spent some time living in NT and would've been happy to play.

With ANZPT events now also in Darwin and Canberra, players from these regions should now be more accessible for organizers/captains than ever before. Go through the results, identify some players, contact the local casino managers, etc.

Hopefully you can take it from there.

This was posted last year by Tony Hachem as the qualification criteria for the 2010 SOO:

State Of Origin Poker Championship 2010

    Selection Criteria:

    a) Player Background

    1. A player’s place of birth will determine which State he or she represents.
    2. The player must be a permanent resident in Australia.
    3. A player must have resided in a particular State for a minimum of 5 years to be eligible to represent that State.
    4. If a player has resided in more than one State for a period of 5 years or greater it will be at the individual player’s discretion to choose for which State he or she is willing to represent. Once a player has been selected to represent a State, they cannot change to another State.

    I assume this hasn't changed in 2011?
