Aussies Online: Baza and the Moose

Posted at 12:51 2011-03-01

It was the final chance to make an impact and turn those red spreadsheet figures into the black for the month of February and several players certainly did that with Brad “BaZa88” Bower and Raemin “Jake The Moose” Alexander amongst the big winners on another Monday morning grind.

For Bower he did it on the biggest stage in the online poker world – the PokerStars Sunday Million. With a massive 9,147 entrants, Bower managed to navigate his way past all but three as he eventually succumbed in 4th place for a score of US$91,470. The prizepool in this event was a lazy $1,829,400 and incredible this figure will more than double next week when PokerStars hosts its 5th anniversary $5 million Sunday Millions special event. Make sure you download PokerStars and be a part of that massive event. Bower’s result will see him jump well inside the top ten Australian online poker rankings.

Also moving up the rankings is Sam “MILF ISLAND” Rotar continued his impressive form with another five-figure score for the month. Rotar picked up US$15,407 for his second place in the $22 1R1A $35k Guarantee on PokerStars and now sits just outside the Australian online top ten.

Elsewhere, there was a moose on the loose on the European DISE network as Alexander, playing under the moniker “TrupQQ”, picked up a handsome €10,250 for his victory over a field of 881 runners in the €55 buy-in €50k Guaranteed weekly major on poker site Poker Heaven. This followed up on another win during the week for Alexander in a $5 rebuy on Titan Poker which was good for another US$2,475.

Another in the money yesterday was the APPT Sydney champion and Full Tilt Pro Jonathan “xMONSTERxDONGx” Karamalikis who landed a 3rd place in the Absolute Poker $60k Guaranteed for a lazy US$7,050. While 2008 Aussie Millions champ Stewart “juzlearnin” went deep in the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl, as he cashed for US$2,200 for his 16th place.

Don’t forget that the next instalment of the Mini-FTOPS will be hitting Full Tilt Poker starting next week. With over $22 million in guaranteed prize money and buy-ins aimed at the low limit players, there is no better value for money that the Full Tilt Mini-FTOPS series.

We look forward to a big week next week for Aussies on the online poker felt.
