PokerStars Releases $50 Million WCOOP Schedule

PokerStars recently released the schedule for their 2010 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), which is the largest online poker series on the planet. And what’s amazing about the 2010 WCOOP is that it will offer the highest ever guaranteed prize pool for an online poker series at a whopping $50 million!

The WCOOP starts on September 5^th with a $215 6-Max No-Limit Hold’em tournament ($1.25 million prize pool), and it will run until September 27^th. Throughout the 23 days that the WCOOP runs, 62 events will be held with many of the guaranteed prize pools topping the $1 million mark. Everybody who wins an event will not only cash in on the first place prize, but they’ll also receive a WCOOP gold bracelet just like with the WSOP.

Some notable events in the 2010 WCOOP include the following:

- Event #2: No-Limit Hold’em tournament where the buy-in is $10,300 and the prize pool is $2 million.

- Event #22: 2-day No-Limit Hold’em tourney with a $530 buy-in and a $3 million prize pool.

- Event #42: Another 2-day No-Limit Hold’em tournament where the buy-in is $1,050 and the prize pool is worth $3 million.

- Event #62: No-Limit Hold’em Main Event where the buy-in is $5,200 and the prize pool is worth $10 million.

The Main Event is particularly interesting since last year saw Yevgeniy 'Jovial Gent' Timoshenko win $1.7 million for taking first place. This year’s winner is expected to win just as much money, if not more!

Besides the big No-Limit Hold’em tourneys and Main Event, you’ll also be able to play Razz, Pot-Limit Omaha, 8-Game, H.O.R.S.E., Stud, Stud Hi-Lo, and more. And the buy-ins go as low as $109, so players of all limits will be able to compete. You can also satellite your way into these events for just a few dollars.
