Double Victory for Smith?

Written by thkcduckworth, 2010 09 12 02:04 pm EST

Alec Smith may not be a household name now, but who knows what may happen if he can pull off a victory here!

Sitting with just under 400,000 in chips, Smith knows all to well the pressure that goes with a final table after making one just beyond a week ago in the $550 Opening Event of the Sydney Poker Championships.

Not only did Smith make the final table, but he also blitzed it finishing first for a $46,905 payday.

The youngest player at the table also proved to be the most lethal last night as 19-year-old student Alec Smith stormed his way to first place and a $46,905 payday in the $550 Sydney Championships Opening Event at Star City.

Smith, from Elanora Heights on Sydney’s northern beaches, began the final table mid-field and took an early hit to his stack that could have proved fatal, but rather than throw in the towel he dug in his heels and stormed his way back before dominating the heads-up battle against overnight monster chip leader Juan Weber.
