Seriously rickwaa be more of a loser.
I wasn't there but from a very reliable source it was Simon Watt who is known to be a very nice bloke......who obviously very much regrets this decision he made.
Personally, I don't care how nice of a bloke he is as I'm not looking for a nice guy when it comes to a TD, I'm looking for rules and regulations and he royally fucked up and therefor he should withdraw himself and stand down from any future offers at being a TD. This error of his is unforgivable as a TD, although on the personal side of things, I do wish him well and good mental health as he deals with this issue because he must just want to put a bullet in his own head right now.
I don't know how they would make this right, but at the very least, Simon Watt should never be involved with another than being a player of poker again. This mistake should mean he never has the opportunity to do it again, people get fired for lesser mistakes in the real world and this was one of the biggest fuck ups I've ever seen after that chick in the WSOP went all in with pocket aces and the dealer mucked her hand.
Who is contacting the official body?
A friend of mine suggested you contact WPT TD Matt Savage to seek his opinion.
for hells sake I fear this is something most live players will never be able to do
If you want him all in then go all in, dont ask for a rough count and then bet that rough amount and consider it to be correct. This is as bad as "I put you all in".
50k was the bet and it was raised, the player exposed their hand with action pending and deserved to be penalised after the hand (as I'm sure most people would agree with, as it is in the rules and people really do need to learn the hard way with this), however mucking the hand was a terrible ruling
The point I'm trying to make is, as a player, dont expose yourself to these types of situations and they wont arrise. If you want somebody all in, get an exact count. If its HU, just go allin yourself and remove any doubt
As poker players you all should know that a 1% chance of a monumental fuck up is eventually going to happen so remove the chances of it
Matt Savage's view: "If true the ruling is really bad, they need to use simple TDA rules."
