I'm simply a player who finds it hilarious reading all the negative stuff in these forums from people who are supposed to be into poker. Never anything positive, just competitors bagging out each other. For example, why is it important for you to tell everyone Crown know about this story, other to stirr things up? How about, good on them, they gave away a bucket load of money at that event (I won $2k btw
).

Lol .... you can't be serious? So your answer is to go on a forum to carry on about one bad ruling, name the poor guy involved to publically humiliate him and then tell as many people as possible.... & this is good for poker?? That makes perfect sense!!
![]() ![]() ![]() How gullible do you think people are??

They didn't give away any money at the event? all the tickets were worth $2200 in satellites. In fact they made 50k pre expenses at the event. Surely paying $200 in rake should entitle you to a tournament director who knows what he is doing?

Being a TD in from a different game, Ten Pin, isn't the following extract standard from all tournaments. Different wording and numbers obv but same message.
(extracted from Treasury 110 Condition of Entry) ------------8<--------------------- 7.12 In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Tournament Director is final. 7.13 A copy of the rules of Tournament Poker is available for perusal by contacting the Casino Marketing Department. ------------8<--------------------- Personally I have asked for copies of the applicable rules before playing live and all should. Bad decision by both the TD and Jacky, unluckily for both but within the COE.

Shocking utterly shocking...... even an inexperienced TD would see that the remaining 2.something k stack would have no implication on the hand. It had to be collusion with the player and the TD and yes he should be publicly named cause this is robbery. Not for pocket change but potentially 1/4 of a mil. After this hand that pot would of made Jacky in high contention for 1st place ...sack the TD it has nothing to do with the league this was a stupid selfish impulsive decision made by the TD and nothing more. The league shouldn't be tarnished over 1 persons decision to collude. BTW I have no affiliation with NPL other than I like and play the games they run

Ashton if you are going to write an article on an incident that happens that is so significant in the poker community at least write it correctly. I was at the table when they called for the ruling and know now that the ruling was incorrect but the way you posted on your site how the hand played out was incorrect. What actually happened was Jacky asked how much the opponent stack was and was answered with about 53K, he then pushed a stack of chips out in front without saying anything. The opponent then said call and pushed his stack out which the dealer counted and returned 2500. Jacky then said i have a full house before turning his cards over thinking the opponent had no chips left. The T.D. was then called over to give a ruling.
