Just as the WPT London Poker Classic kicks off, Australia’s own Tony G had a few interesting comments on his Party Poker Blog about a challenge with none other than the fastest man in the world – Usain Bolt.
Apparently Bolt was spotted at the reception of the Mayfair Hotel which is the venue of the WPT London Poker Classic Event. The G tried to catch up with the sporting star as he commented,“Somebody called me but you guessed it – Usain had bolted!”
The G then described a new challenge which he is proposing to the world’s fastest man.
“Some of you may not know that when I was a young G I was a champion athlete in Lithuania. Tony G v Usain Bolt to race over 100 metres anywhere in the world. The winner gets $50,000 for a charity of their choice and I will put this money up myself. I have no chance against the fastest man in the universe who can run sub 10 seconds you say? Well, I get a 50 metre head start! BRING IT ON.”
Tony G then continued that his sponsor Party Poker have even offered to buy in Bolt into the WPT London Poker Classic Main Event. Unfortunately poker is usually a marathon rather than a sprint so we’re unlikely to see Bolt taking up the offer.
The WPT London Poker Classic kicked off with 72 entrants on Day 1a with Erik Seidel leading the way. Also in the top five is none other than the legendary Phil Ivey.
