The second flight of the World Series of Poker Main Event kicked off with 1,489 hopefuls wandering through the doors of the Amazon Room, with an extra 18 tables that spilled over to the Pavillion Room of the Rio. The numbers are significantly increased on last year’s 1b field which inconveniently fell on America’s Independence Day holiday. This led to a lockout scenario on day 1d which stopped a number of players from entering the Main Event. The combined numbers for the first two flights total 2,614 and are up 30% from the 2009 field.
