"Brendon "chickface" Edmonds collected the top prize in the Full Tilt 750k Guaranteed"
November 04, 2010

While many Aussie regulars were in transit to and from ANZPT Darwin to either Macau and/or Cebu, several other young guns were at home grinding out impressive online scores.

Brendon “Make It Rain” Edmonds found himself in the winner’s circle not once, not twice, but three times, first by taking down the PokerStars $40,000 guaranteed last Sunday which was good for $8,400. Edmonds, who plays under the handle “chickface” on Full Tilt Poker, then added another $5,069.40 to his account after conquering the $250,000 guaranteed tournament on Tuesday before the highlight of the week when he smashed a field of 3,981 players in the Full Tilt Poker $750,000 guaranteed event to take home a first place prize worth $120,160.61 after a two-way chop with his heads-up opponent. Edmonds’ incredible form has now put him in 4th place in the Australian online poker rankings.

Another Aussie dominating the Sunday majors was Dominic “The Spewtard” Coombe who saluted in the weekly UB $200,000 Guaranteed major. Coombe, playing on UB under the handle "HotEmoGirl" overcame all but three of the 953 entrants as a four-handed chop landed the Queenslander $25,755 in prize money.

David “dasve798111” Allan has continued his good form from last week with two huge scores in the Sunday majors on PokerStars, as he finished second in the PokerStars $40,000 6-max NLHE tournament for $6,467.60 on Thursday, and then pocketed a further $35,500 after finishing fourth in the PokerStars Sunday 500. As a result he has now moved into third place overall in the Australian online poker rankings.

In other Aussie online news, bazooka87 has climbed into 10th place overall after picking up $8,400 in Sunday’s $109 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max tournament on PokerStars. 2010 ANZPT Queenstown champion Julian intimad8or Cohen also produced a runner-up finish on Wednesday, taking home $6365.85 from the Full Tilt Poker $250,000 guaranteed event.

Despite all the big movers and only small results this week, Jonathan xMONSTERxDONGx Karamalikis and Brendon brendooor Rubie are still one-two in the Australian online rankings. It will be interesting to see the developments on the virtual felt as we approach the end of 2010, but with so many major events in the Asia-Pacific region coming up, there’s every chance that we could see a new online phenom storm through to the top of the charts!
