Just when you thought there weren’t enough live tournaments to keep you off the streets, the guys at PokerStars have come to the party with the announcement of two new mouth-watering tournament series.
While the APPT Philippines event found a new home on the tropical beaches of Cebu last year, a special once off event has been announced for the capital of Manila and will fall under the APPT wing.
PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation) have announced the first PAGCOR Chairman Efraim C .Genuino International Poker Tournament with a US$1 million guarantee! The event will run from March 20-25th 2010 at the Manila Pavilion Hotel & Casino, and with a buy-in of US$2,700 (2,500+200) an overlay is expected. The tournament aims to boost tournament poker in the Philippines and with side tournaments and cash games available, it will be a tremendous series for the region. Online poker satellites will be available shortly on PokerStars.
Meanwhile ANZPT Commissioner Danny McDonagh today announced a seventh event for Season 2 of the PokerStars.net Australia New Zealand Poker Tour. The long weekend in June will see the Australian Poker contingent head to Canberra for the first time for the ANZPT Canberra event. The room will be expanded to ten tables for $2,200 buy-in Main Event which will run from June 11-14th 2010. What better place to be in June than the nation’s capital! Once again players will have the opportunity to satellite their way into the ANZPT Canberra event via online poker satellites on PokerStars.
